My approach with each individual includes a mindful presence, which embraces an openness and a creative approach toward possibilities. I join my clients to develop fresh ideas to old patterns and problems. With a strength based and CBT approach, I work with my clients to manage anxiety, problem solve, change negative thought patterns and fixed mindsets, and help them to become more resilient and find a stronger sense of self.
I have worked with individuals for over 25 years as a teacher, parent educator and counselor in school settings, group practice and private practice. I am also a certified mindfulness meditation instructor.
Here are some descriptions of Anxiety, OCD, and Depression. Perhaps you identify or someone in your family identifies with one or more of the following:
Anxiety can manifest in many ways, including excessive worry, restlessness, irritability, and physical symptoms like heart palpitations or difficulty concentrating. Whether you’re struggling with generalized anxiety, panic attacks, or social anxiety, I can help you develop effective strategies, challenge negative thought patterns, and regain control over your life.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder involves intrusive thoughts, images or urges and compulsive behaviors that can be distressing and time-consuming. Many people with OCD feel trapped in a cycle of obsession and compulsion, but with the right support, it’s possible to break free from ocd.. I offer evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) that can help you manage your symptoms and reduce the impact of OCD on your daily life. This is the gold standard for the treatment of ocd.
Depression is more than just feeling sad; it can drain your energy, affect your relationships, and diminish your overall quality of life. Symptoms may include persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, changes in sleep or appetite, and feelings of hopelessness. My goal is to help you identify the underlying causes of your depression, explore healthier coping mechanisms, and work towards a more fulfilling and values driven life.
